Thank you by offering to become one of our team of voluntary dog walkers/pet carers if your application is successful your name and telephone number will be given to one of our registered service users.  All our service users are either elderly or disabled and because you will be entering the homes of the most vulnerable people in the community it is necessary for us to take up references, get confirmation from your GP and carry out police checks.  Please answer the following questions.

We will need the original of your full birth certificate which you can obtain by phoning 0845 603 7788 and will cost £11.50 and this will be returned to you by guarantee post once police checks have been carried out.  The Light of the World Trust will, on production of a receipt refund the £11.50 fee in full to you when we return your birth certificate.

Before you decide to join our team of voluntary dog walkers/ pet carers please give deep consideration to the following; your offer of voluntary help is greatly appreciated by The Light of the World Trust and our service users but dogs especially become very dependant on the regular exercise you will provide and equally will quickly bond with you and come to expect your regular visits and therefore please give this serious thought before making a commitment.
